Living in Arvada, Colorado

Arvada sits just northwest of Denver and stretches from established neighborhoods near Wadsworth all the way to newer communities near the foothills. It’s one of my favorite places to show people who want a real sense of community without giving up easy access to the city.

Olde Town Arvada

The heart of the city is Olde Town, with its restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, farmers market and community events. The G Line station right in Olde Town makes it easy to get downtown without a car.

• Olde Town and nearby: Bungalows, cottages and mid-century homes within walking or biking distance of downtown Arvada.
• Central Arvada: Established neighborhoods of ranches, split-levels and two-story homes on generous lots, often close to parks and schools.

Arvada has a huge network of parks and trails, including the Ralston Creek Trail, Majestic View Nature Center and Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge. The Arvada Center hosts theater, concerts and art exhibits year-round.

• Mid-century homes often have great bones and bigger lots but may need updated electrical, windows or sewer lines, so inspect carefully.

The RTD G Line commuter rail runs from stations in Arvada, including Olde Town Arvada, to Union Station in downtown Denver. By car, I-70 and I-76 are close by, and the drive is often 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic.
